Arizona SciTech Festival

The Arizona Science and Technology Festival celebrates Arizona’s leading role in science, technology, and innovation with activities that engage, inspire and spark imagination across entire communities. Though the festival officially runs in February and March, the adventures continue year-round. Join a conversation, debate, or forum; sit in on a workshop, cruise a display or exhibition; attend a broadcast, concert or play; or go exploring with site visits, guided walks or tours that occur all over the state. Many of these events are free and open to all ages.

The festival is a novel, creative way to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education programs that train the next generation, and to explore the industries like nanotechnology, biotechnology, and aerospace that mark the state’s leadership in advanced systems. Though only two years old, this event is already changing the way we look at STEM activities!

Celebrating Innovation

Covered by Glendale 11.The Arizona SciTech Festival is a grass-roots collaboration of over 350 organizations in industry, academia, arts, civic, community and K–12. Together these partners offer over 200 events designed to excite and inform Arizonans from ages 3 to 103 about how STEM will drive our state for next 100 years. Young and old, everyone is invited to learn about the science of Arizona’s past, present, and future. Bringing together Arizona’s STEM leaders to foster awareness and education, the festival is a powerful vehicle for leveraging productive synergy to increase the output of future STEM leaders and innovators.

SciTech Festival events are everywhere! Activities are specially designed for students to explore scientific principles with hands-on activities that will help them become valued members of the 21st century workforce. Many occur on school, college and university campuses; in libraries, museums, and civic buildings; in cafes and restaurants; in commercial or industrial facilities; even in parks and public squares. Some come to you through booths at popular community events, like the “Science of Chocolate” booth at the Glendale Chocolate Affaire!
